Stake Conference
Today we had Stake Conference at Church. They told us that it would be a broadcast from Salt Lake and that there were about 50 other Stakes that would be receiving it too. I was a little hesitant, yet curious. We had just had General Conference from Salt Lake and I was worried that it would have the same "formal" feel.
It was incredible!!!! There were about 60 stakes involved . . . all in the midwest. There were three couples who spoke . . . Hilbigs (who just came back from Russia), Oaks (who just came back from South Africa) and the Packers.
I really loved it! The stories and testimonies were beautiful.
"There are only two reasons why you do not pay tithing?
'I have so many blessings . . . I'm overwhelmed with blessing . . . I can't take anymore blessings, etc., . . . that's why I don't pay tithing.'
'I don't have faith.'"
I wish I could remember the exact wording, but you get the idea.
I could go on and on . . . but we really liked it!!
I thought Matthew would have problems sitting in the dark watching the huge screen, but he choose to stand in the chair and watch the t.v. on the side. We took him out a couple of times just to stretch his legs. Overall, he did great. He especially liked tickling the feet of the girls from the Singles Ward who sat behind us. They had taken their shoes off and he couldn't resist! Such a big flirt!
I am so thankful for the gospel in my life. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior! I know that he lives and loves each and every one of us!
I was also thankful for the opportunity of seeing Amanda Gomez baptized today. She is really neat and I'm looking forward to getting to know her better.
I gotta go and play with my little monkey . . . have a great week!

4-1/2 Hours!
Friday was a pretty "yucky" day outside . . . rain and cold! Where did the spring-like weather go? I asked Matthew what he wanted to do . . . and he said, "Go to the 'seum. So, off we headed to the Children's Discovery Museum!
I had to run a couple of errands before we got to the Museum and he was not too happy. Then, we needed to eat, because I knew he would never leave the Museum once we got there. I bribed him with McDonald's and then we got to the Museum by 12 Noon.
We had so much FUN!! I didn't think we would be there long, so I didn't bring any snacks, etc. I made him stop to get something out of the vending machine and the choices were not that great!! They only had sodas and junk food. He picked a bag of Cheetos that cost 70 cents and I think it maybe had one cup of Cheetos in the bag, if that much. Ouch!
On one of the levels they have wheelchairs for you to experience and different types of flooring . . . concrete, brick, carpet, etc. He found the wheelchair made especially for children and sat in it for an hour! When we would go do something else, he rode in the wheelchair. He wouldn't let me push it or anything. The funny thing . . . people who came in later and hadn't seen Matthew walking . . . they were giving us "sympathy" looks. I wish I could have seen their faces when he came running to the elevator! He wanted to bring the wheelchair home and still talks about it.
We continued playing and having fun and I was getting tired! Another bribe . . . let's go to the Gift Shop (it's close to the front door!). He had fun and I thought I'd let him pick something. A "tiny" plastic car . . . no frills or thrills . . . just a little bit bigger than a Matchbox car . . . $3.95!!! After my initial fainting spell and looking around for the cheapest thing in the room . . . a $1.00 candy bar from Beich . . . he gladly traded the car in for chocolate!
Well, we got to the van and I looked at the clock . . . 4:30 p.m.!! 4-1/2 hours! I couldn't believe it, but we had so much FUN!! He was ready to go back the next day . . . I think he missed the wheelchair

Spring!
It has been such an incredible BEAUTIFUL weekend!
On Saturday, neighbors cames out and helped our backyard neighbor pull down some trees. One tree was so tall, I'm sure it reached the clouds. The other was beautiful, but dead. My husband ran the chain saw . . . just imagine Tim Allen on Home Improvement . . . you could smell the testosterone everywhere!
Spring is so beautiful!

Underwear!!!
We have reached the pinnacle . . . no more pull-ups!!!
To celebrate this momentous occasion . . . out with the toddler bed and in with the twin size bed . . . AND . . . SPIDERMAN!!
Spiderman has been his all time favorite! Matthew has never seen a cartoon or movie about him, but he LOVES Spiderman! He got Spiderman sheets, pillowcase and a comforter. We are also replacing his teddy bear border with Spiderman. His curtains will be Spiderman. We are painting one wall blue and putting Spiderman stuff on it. I think we are going to be seeing Spiderman in our sleep!! But, he loves it and this is a major achievement!!
I'm looking for a chair to put in his room to remove the baby rocker too. I'm putting the rocker in the Living Room, because I just can't let go of it yet. I've also hung his teddy bear wall hanging in the Living Room . . . I love it!

Four Versus One
How is it that a "temporary" mother of "four" is easier than a "real" mother of "one"? As from the previous post . . . we have been watching three children for a friend of ours. I HAVE HAD A GREAT WEEK AND IT'S ONLY WEDNESDAY! I have gotten so much done and time to spare! It has been incredible!
I've been mentally going over things that I've needed to get done, but haven't even touched the stuff in over a year! Do you think these kids can stay another week? I might even dust!!
This has been lots of fun for my hubby, Matthew and I. We love it!

Larry, Curly and Moe
Today we became parents of four . . . friends of ours went out of town and we are keeping three of their four children. Larry is 4 and he is so cute. Curly is 6 and she has beautiful black hair. Moe is 9 and has a GREAT appetite and is a GREAT helper! Matthew is excited to have brothers and a sister!
We had them all in the backyard with our neighbor children . . . it was a zoo . . . but so much FUN!! I let you know if I'm still having fun when I have to get them up and get them all ready for school tomorrow morning. Matthew and Larry have preschool.
My hubby is having the most fun of all! He loves it!

The Incredibles!
Which Incredibles Character Are You?

Grandma Honey bought Matthew "The Incredibles" pajamas! He loves them so much and has worn them all day today. We even went for a walk in the park and he refused to change clothes. I'm sure he would wear them again to bed tonight, but I put them in the dirty clothes.
Grandma Honey went home today . . . Matthew thinks she is still in the bathroom. He won't believe that she is gone. They had a fun time together and she spoiled him rotten!! Me toooo!
